Pat Robertson on the 700 Club today warned viewers that America has become like Sodom and Gomorrah by abandoning the Christian roots of its early settlers. Robertson blasted “courts and judges [who] have trampled on the early origins of our nation” and “distorted the meaning of the First Amendment,” lamenting that “homosexuality has been made a constitutional right, that abortion has been made a constitutional right.” He went on to say that while there are far more righteous people in America than there were in Sodom and Gomorrah, Christians must “band together and pray that God Almighty will spare this great land” before it receives the same punishment.
